Santa's Chocolate Cherry Surprises - Christmas Cookie Recipe 

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
20 maraschino cherries
20 chocolate chips
1 cup additional chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Cream sugar and butter very well. Add vanilla, flour and salt; mix well.

Stuff each cherry with a chocolate chip. Wrap stuffed cherry in dough.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool.

Melt 1 cup chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler over low heat or in the microwave. Dip top of cookies in melted chocolate.

Yield:  20 cookies.
